The business of time travel is a critical matter to handle when you are using the concept to create a movie or a game, and the same was crafted to perfection when Free Radical Design decided to develop a PlayStation 2 gem in October 2000, "TimeSplitters". Published by Eidos Interactive, TimeSplitters was a whole generation ahead of its time due to the FPS it introduced. A first-person shooter video game whose story revolves around a war with the TimeSplitters, creatures that use time crystals to travel through time. The reason of doing this is to disrupt human history and annihilate the human race. The three games of the series were released between 2000 and 2005. Development on a fourth game is being undertaken by a reformed version of Free Radical Design, now owned by Deep Silver.
