Thoughts on Final Fantasy 7 Remake #shorts
723 years after the original game was released, #squareenix has finally given us the long-anticipated remake.
And the wait was well worth it!
Calling it a remake is a HUGE understatement. It changes and refines nearly every element from the original game.
Firstly, replacing the turn-based combat from the original with FF15's action-oriented real-time approach. The game manages to balance visually impressive action with tactical thinking brilliantly. Even on the normal difficulty, it can prove quite a challenge. There were times I had to play on easy mode to defeat some bosses.
The action choreography and visuals in the cutscenes are simply outstanding! With most deserving a replay.
While I wished the original cast did reprise their roles, the new cast is brilliant and excels in their respective role.
Unfortunately like with most JRPGs, the side quests are the same generic mission common in games. The game also suffered from FF13's linearity.
Overall, it's still one of the best JRPGs around. Cannot wait for Part 2!
