*Two weapons and two vehicles seized
Morelia, Michoacán, August 21, 2025.- The Ministry of Public Security, together with the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection, the State Attorney General's Office, and the National Guard, arrested three suspects suspected of kidnapping and extortion. Two firearms and two vehicles related to illegal acts were also seized.
According to the investigation, a case file was opened on August 12 for the crime of kidnapping against a farmer in the municipality of Tacámbaro. Upon receiving the complaint, personnel from the Undersecretariat of Specialized Investigation, the Specialized Unit to Combat Kidnapping, and federal authorities implemented investigative, intelligence, and operational analysis efforts that yielded positive results.
In an initial operation, three people were arrested in Morelia, where a .32-caliber revolver with six live rounds, a nine-millimeter pistol loaded with nine rounds, and two vehicles linked to the incident were seized.
With these actions, authorities reiterate their commitment to a frontal attack on kidnapping and extortion in the state, as part of the national strategy to guarantee the safety and peace of Michoacán families.
