I realize I played terribly after like turn 5. Worth uploading to show that I think new Shudderwock's strength is more in using the hero power early to get triples than holding for a big buff late in the game. Of course you won't always get this many tokens, but even 2 easy triples early sets you up for a good game (just don't throw like I did and -10 for 6 turns in a row). Murlocs and Beasts are the most important tribes to have if you wanna pick this hero. You can probably get away with one of the two if there is pirates & quilboars though.
