Thunder Hoop is a game from Gaelco that is one part arcade run and gun, one part arcade beat em up and all parts retro games weirdness...and the predecessor to TH Strikes Back...another game I covered on the channel that is even weirder! It's def not one of the best arcade games of all time or best video games of all time...making it perfect for April! It's definitely an obscure video game though and a rare arcade game at that!

So we decided to extend this playlist from 10 games to does it even matter what the count is anymore? lol it's a lot! But doesn't retro gaming deserve it?

On this episode of Unported Playlist we are taking a look at Thunder Hoop from Gaelco! You don't see a ton of Spanish video game development but you do with them! Thunder Hoop is not a bad game. It's actually a super amusing run and gun ala Contra with some beat em up elements mixed in! But the theming in the game...SO DAMN WEIRD! Like I have no clue what the game's deal is...but its a total retrogaming hidden gem (no its not) and a very obscure video game. It's certainly no Final Fight or Streets of Rage...but that's ok! Oh and it's the Prequel to Th Strikes Back...not the most normal game ever but not near to this!

Played via MAME, which has a few emulation issues. Been looking for an original arcade PCB for this for awhile now!
