2The UEFA Cup has been Europe’s secondary prize to win for a number of years now, most notably after the abolition of the Cup Winners’ Cup in 1998. Our watershed mark is the new millennium, so unfortunately there are no Italian clubs to pore over, however, there has been a distinct domination from those on the Iberian peninsula and England. From the all-encompassing Sevilla and Atletico Madrid, to the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United who have fallen from the Champions League to take glory. We’ve had eastern European winners in the form of Shakhtar, CSKA and Zenit and even an all-Portuguese final featuring Porto and Braga.
