Tiger Game.com Commercial Party
Originally released in mid to late 1997, the Tiger Electronics Game.com came with unique features. For one, Internet capability, touch screen interactivity, and a myriad of licensed games. On paper, the Game.com sounds amazing and like it would have taken the world by storm.
Unfortunately for Tiger Electronics, it was not to be. Many pointed at the poor screen which blurred quite easily. Others blame the poor game library, even though there were notable licensed titles.
Ultimately, the Game.com sold about 300,000 units, an abysmal number.
Anyone that ventured into the Game.com world got a 14.4 kbit modem for Internet access. Design wise, the Game.com was like the Sega Game Gear – controls on either side of the screen with cartridges inserted from the top.
