Golf legend Tiger Woods is said to be "awake, responsive and recovering" after Tuesday's rollover crash that shattered his leg. Surgeons inserted a rod with pins and screws to rebuild his shin and calf bones as well as his ankle.

His team released a statement late Tuesday expressing gratitude saying, "Mr. Woods suffered significant orthopedic injuries to his right lower extremity that were treated during emergency surgery by Orthopedic trauma specialists at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, a level 1 trauma center."
