Time Crisis - Helicopter Bug on MAME Solved (Without Cheats)

Hey guys! Here’s another Mame Time Crisis video to show you the most infamous glitch helicopter that most gamers had a hard time to get through. It’s a little difficult to understand where the actual hit-box for the helicopter. I’m sure with practice, which requires some patience and timing will help to figure out the patterns of how you defeat this side boss. Played it by using MameUI 0.128. The mame developers decided to disabled the option for cheats. With the controls finally corrected. The only way to bring down this bad boy is to shoot at the tail, when it’s not facing you. I’m sure by the time when Mame 140 and beyond, has the cheats to shoot the helicopter anywhere like the arcade. Except, there’s a slight bug for that cheat will caused the video emulation to slow down a bit (if you’re already done with the helicopter part and decided to leave it on).
Here’s some helpful advice when you get to the helicopter part (shown on video):
On Area 3 of Stage 1 – shoot the two machine gunners troops, a brown solider and a few blue men. Hide to save your ammo and press the pedal button to go attack mode. Then, aim your cross-hair (if you’re using your mouse or light gun controller) to the upper left of the screen. That’s where the helicopter will come out to reveal itself. Open fire a few shots at the right side of the tail, before it turns to face you. And at that time a few men with bats will appear. Shoot them down, so you’re alone with the helicopter and wait for it to fire some rounds at you (hide to be safe). It’ll tease you with warning shots (don’t worry) Once it appears, facing you again, hide. Now, it’ll come closer to you and again facing you (hide again). You don’t want to stay hidden for long, in case it’ll fly away and you’ll missed your chance to hit the right-side tail completely. When it’s done shooting at you as your hiding, come out firing at right side of tail before it disappears from the top (if you’re a quick, expert shooter. you’re get lucky when it explodes for the first time).
On Area 1 of Stage 3 – When you meet the helicopter for the second time, it’ll drop off a few troops (don’t worry about them for now) Shoot at the whole, right side of its tail, while it’s busy dropping off some men. The helicopter will explode for the first time and it’s finally on fire. Keep shooting at the tail, until it’s done with its delivery (trust me, it’s going take another 30 rounds to bring that baby down). Mow down the armies til you get to the gunner station. Here’s where the fun part will be, when you go face-to-face with the copter for the last time. You’re definitely going have to keep inserting coin to continue, where you left off. The helicopter will return and will fire in two ways:
First, it will come back from the bottom of the screen. It will fire a whole set of rounds, from flying to the left to the right side of the screen (that’s where you have to do some major hiding from that point). Next it’ll come around the fort and fire a couple rounds (not so bad). Now, when it’s done firing a few rounds from the right, that’s the time when you’re get a cleaner shot, by shooting the left side of its tail, before it flies away to the top. You can only fire a few shot from there. The process repeats, so wait until it come back around. Keep on doing, what I am doing in the video (including pressing the coin button). When you finally sees it exploding and coming down. You’re finally did it!!! Alright!
By the time, somebody like Pugsy to create and released the cheat “to shoot the helicopter anywhere.” You won’t have to worry about wasting such time to accomplish at what you been struggling at.
