Time Crisis II PS2 JP - EMS TopGun II Test
0I was a dork and didn't do my research before ordering a used copy of the Japanese version of Time Crisis II + Guncon 2 bundle for the PlayStation 2 (so many twos ^^) from PlayAsia so I didn't know the controller didn't work on LCD screens. (Yeah, I know there was an English release of the game.) Due to this silly oversight, I ended up spending extra money to buy an EMS TopGun II ( http://www.hkems.com/product/xbox/LCDTopGun.htm ).
It took me a while to get it to work with the game because my stupidity kicked in yet again! This time it involved me not sitting far enough from the screen so the crosshairs were going haywire and acting extremely erratic. :P I only discovered the solution after checking for interference via a program on the computer. That prog forced me to sit a bit away from the monitor since it wasn't picking up the infrared stuff properly.
Then came the problem where the crosshairs in the game wasn't centered with the laser pointer. :B This was fixed by re-calibrating the gun to fit the size of the game screen and not the corners of the monitor. I wonder if this problem would still occur if the monitor wasn't widescreen? D:
For what it's worth, I'm playing this with my computer monitor, a Samsung 22" SyncMaster 2253BW Widescreen LCD and with an actual PS2. I do believe the game doesn't work properly with PS2 emulators.
Anyway, check out my crappy gameplay! My reflexes are so horrible. XD When I played this at the arcades, I used to have to pump in a billion credits to get to the end. (Same thing for Time Crisis 3 and The House of the Dead games. I'm so bad at them but I do like these rail shooters a lot. ^^;)
