One of America’s most exciting contemporary artists, Arsham incorporates a near-scientific approach to art in order to transform ordinary objects — cameras, cassette tapes, mobile phones — into archaeological discoveries from a future, dystopian world. In this studio visit, he tracks his development from early forays in photography and painting, to a formative collaboration with Merce Cunningham, through his work today.
