I'm not a Loner. My name is not Kruglov. My task is to infiltrate any Factions that I choose, in order to investigate and seize any of the new prototype weapons and ammunition, that have illegally entered the Zone. I have left the Mercenary Faction to join the Loner Faction. I am the Stalker.

Encrypted Diary: After the recent events in Garbage, the DFR Bandit and Freedom relations had rapidly deteriorated, and dropped into the yellow number territory, both being dangerously close to flipping. I knew my time as a Mercenary was coming to a close, especially after completing X-16, I knew it was time to change. I like to change my Faction after completing any of the X-Labs, as it is best to disappear before you stand out among the victors.

Even though being a Loner makes the Bandits and Freedom my enemies, that was coming anyway if I had remained as a Merc. Being a Loner meant I was allies with Duty and I can get back into Rostok and get a completion for two PDA tasks. I knew making Freedom my enemy would cancel the two Freedom tasks, go see Loki in the far north and Yar's PDA. That was fine with me, as I did not want to go, back up to the far north any time soon.

* Game Note: I think the Yar's PDA task was bugged as no PDA ever appeared.
