Tips For Setting Boundaries in Relationships
These tips for setting boundaries in relationships was from the monthly INFP meetup's conversation about dealing with family dynamics.
“This isn't a conversation I'm having right now.”
I think that's that's important internally like as a fractal system
like when those negative thoughts come up
and stuff like that to tell those those negative thoughts,
“This is not a conversation I'm having right now.”
You know? “You're not welcome.”
But also externally to set up expectations for what is okay,
and what is not okay, and how you allow other people to,
to talk to you, and to treat you, and to want things for you.
There's another one similar to that it’s like
“I realize that you want this,
but I'm not going to do that.”
Acknowledge what they want and don't give them anything to build on, if that makes sense.
It's not about creating more conflict or saying your opinions about it.
Just like, I see that you want this but I'm doing this.
Again? “Okay. I see you want this. I'm doing this.”
Just having the self love to stick to
what you want to do and hold on to it…
