Kumho Tire is pleased to introduce its new ultra-high performance range specifically designed for the European market: ECSTA SPORT and ECSTA SPORT S.
Building on the strengths of their predecessors, the ECSTA PS91 and PS71, the new designs perfectly support the high performance needed for more powerful vehicles. Their increased durability enables agile and precise handling, while the optimised tread block design improves stability at high speeds.
The new designs, developed in Germany by the Kumho Europe Technical Center (KETC) from 2021 to 2024, reinforce Kumho's status as a premium brand in the European and global markets.
In particular, the ECSTA Sport S achieved excellent results in the comparative test conducted by TÜV SÜD, a world-renowned authority in the field of testing and certification. TÜV SÜD, founded in Germany in 1866, offers comparative testing and quality certification services. Over the years it has earned a reputation as a highly reliable independent organisation.
In 2024, TÜV SÜD conducted a test comparing the ESCTA Sport S to five UHP tyres from other leading manufacturers; Kumho's product outperformed the competition. The ECSTA Sport S excelled in braking and handling on dry and wet roads, while it performed slightly better in straight-line driving in aquaplaning conditions.
The entire range has been designed to be compatible with electric vehicles. This was achieved by balancing key criteria, including abrasion resistance and noise reduction.
In addition, some sizes feature the K-Silent system, which is a layer of polyurethane foam attached to the inside of the tread that minimises tread noise. Specific sizes have been further reinforced to ensure the high load capacity (HL) needed to support the increased weight of electric vehicles.
