You can download the demo and play it from the Kickstarter link. It supports HTC Vive and Oculus Rift CV1.
The company behind this game reached out to me to check out their demo and help promote their Kickstarter. They are the same company that made Apollo 11 VR, which is an awesome educational VR game about the first successful moon landing.
Information from the Titanic VR Kickstarter:
"Our Goal:
We have begun a Kickstarter campaign so that we can create an amazing experience with valued input from you within the community. We have some of the most comprehensive maps and 3D models of the wreck site which we are using to create a realistic exploration experience.
We are also using motion capture, face-scanning technology and professional voice actors to immerse users in the story and relate to the people involved. We want to create an accurate portrayal of events so it is not only educational, but also emotional and very engaging.
While we need your help funding this project, we also want you to participate in creating this experience. Our rewards have been designed to give backers the opportunity to be directly involved: you are able to have your own name plaque at the wreck site, have your painted portrait hung on board, name submersibles and ROVs, become a non-playable character on the ship, and be named in the credits.
Titanic VR is split into two sections: an interactive exploration experience and an immersive historical experience. We will go into greater detail of these sections below.
Titanic VR is designed to work well in roomspace VR, sitting space, and ordinary monitors. Manipulate your environment using motion controls, gamepad, or keyboard an mouse.
Our currently targeted platforms are Vive, Rift, PSVR, Desktop and PS4. If new headsets become available throughout development, we'll do our best to ensure compatibility.
Whether you use Virtual Reality or not, Titanic VR promises to be an emotional and educational journey."
