TNO Custom Series: The Burgundian Crisis (A Visual Chronicle)
Here's one more TNO custom series, and perhaps the last one for now! This one being an expanded, video version of my recent, experimental "Burgundian Crisis" map series ( https://www.deviantart.com/mdc01957/art/TNO-The-Burgundian-Crisis-867988158 ). Though there's not much proper "lore" for this, it is nonetheless based on what would ensue should Himmler fail to keep his Ordenstaat in line while putting his schemes into motion. There are also some hints as to who emerged dominant based on the shifting borders. Without spoiling too much on anything else...it's one wild ride.
For some trivia, the Crisis itself and its initial breakdown (apart from the custom super event) is a reference to the "Burgundian Civil War" event in the Scions of Darkness submod ( https://www.reddit.com/r/TNOmod/comments/k7s9lq/the_burgundian_civil_war_in_sod/ ). On top of German WW2 films and Cold War-era French military footage, there's also a clip from the 1977 movie "Damnation Alley" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yN8ge2hYdnw )...you'd know when it happens.
As for music, apart from the mod's own "Burgundian Lullaby" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJ26fFLNLB4 ), "Victory or Death" from the Youjo Senki/Saga of Tanya the Evil OST is also used ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmJyns65b3Y&list=PLnFZJymqocewJEsjLx7mKtgcm4BxxPlj3&index=16 ). The dissonant vocals, meanwhile, are taken from the WW1-vintage "Verdun! On ne passe pas", in a nod to the "Operation Resurrection" custom event.
Also, I totally didn't use the Violet Evergarden OST for an updated version of an old Burgundy-related event ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTbkEJOUeoM ) , complete with apropos text reference ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnNPRe4P9EY ).
