70Welcome to the finale of CaNDLE, an RPG Maker Horror game made in RPG Maker VX Ace by monoc and translated into English by tosiaki.
We play as Ca, a girl who is sent to deliver a message to the owner of a nearby Mansion, when she got and put down the letter the door behind her was unable to open, what is Ca going to do to escape this new found nightmare? Well, asides dying countless times only to find the ending is only accessible within the final chase scene, not a lot of joy really.
The start to this game looked really promising, the idea at first to have two essential items in order to survive like Candles and Ink in this game in order to survive is good, but this mechanic was executed so poorly, not only are the candle lifelines not guarantee but sometimes you do not even get candles or ink in cupboards/wardrobes.
Half of the game is not needed to be looked through in order to complete it, they are there just to provide a bit of story to the place and have "likelihood" on finding candles/ink. The story itself is executed without any sort of speciality to it, seems like recycled content that's already been used. The only good feature to the game is original character artwork, but art in comparison to the game mechanics and storyline is only the cherry on top of the cake, the story and game mechanics make up the whole cake itself. Overall, if you want to dive yourself into the deep end and expect to start over and over again multiple times to find candles, ink and more importantly the route needed to complete the game, go right ahead but be prepared to rage...
Every ending can be found here, but Endings 1 and 3 are within previous episodes, look up my 2nd part for the first ending and the 3rd part for the third ending, but there are 6 in total.
