Tobal No. 1 - Quest Mode: Episode 3
If it's not the FF7 Demo disc, then THIS is what people remember Tobal No. 1 for: its dungeon crawling mode. While the dungeons themselves are pretty basic, the platforming sections and some of the fights can be pretty tricky. The layouts for Episodes 1-3 are also static, so once you've enjoyed figuring out how to get to the end, you can start figuring out the fastest way down and racing your friends' or your own personal times!
Admittedly, the controls will take some time to get used to, especially in regards to jumping from platform to platform. There's also a degree of randomness in what enemies drop, and which color potions are which, which are enough to keep each run somewhat interesting. But once you get the hang of things, this mode gets surprisingly addictive!
... and then there's Udan's Dungeon, which is a grueling 30 floor labyrinth which will test how much RNGesus loves you, and how much you love this game.
Between the robust 1v1 modes, and the solo dungeon-crawling mode, Tobal No. 1's a surprisingly super fun game!
