Tokuhiko Uwabo (?) - "Clotho" from "Columns" -- Chiptune Visualization / Sega Master System
So, I decided to take a look at all the separate channels of some chiptune music at once. Thought it might look cool, since those waveforms are usually so pretty. I quickly put together a script to create this and other videos.
This time, I decided to try a different platform, so I picked the Sega Master System, one of my favorites.
This music uses the console's Texas Instruments SN76489 sound chip, which supports three pure square wave tone channels and one noise channel (unused in this track).
This track is from the puzzle game "Columns" (also known as "Shapes & Columns"). "Clotho" is the name of one of the Three Fates (Moirae) from Greek mythology, and there are two other tracks in the game named after the other two (Lathesis and Atropos).
The author in the title is taken from the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis version, which features the same music with a different (and I think, worse) instrumentation. It may not be accurate.
