Briefing:
A software engineer working in Silicon Valley became a whistle-blower after he revealed Sentinel involvement into the giant corporation he was working for. Apparently this corporation, which we will fittingly refer to as 'X Corp' from now on, was working together to develop new 'smart rifles' able to automatically target an eliminate the enemy without the need for soldier intervention. This system would have worked in conjunction with a HUD implemented into a pair of spectacles, which the soldier would have used to designate targets.

Originally this concept was introduced to the US Military as a means to get a contract and further funding from congress, but apparently it was scrapped as it was deemed 'too risky'. So X Corp turned to the next best thing: a PMC, and Sentinel immediately jumped on the opportunity. The engineer who spoke out even before a deal was finalised, which forced an FBI intervention and suspension of any production as ordered by the DoJ. As a form of retaliation, the engineer was kidnapped from his home in San Francisco and brought to Auroa, where he will continue to remain until the situation boils over. Command figures he wasn't killed because his skills may be essential for the 'Future Soldier' project to continue.

So it's up to us now to rescue the poor guy. Intel has him located at the Oceanic Power Plant and drone and satellite footage show a heavy guarded presence, including a ground drone. So be vigilant Ghosts. Stealth is your best friend on this mission but make sure you equip yourself for a gunfight.

One more thing: we think Sentinel may have injected a tracker inside the engineer. You won't have time to take it out, so expect a swift QRF response once he leaves the premises, possibly aerial, seeing the location. Whatever the case, it's important you bring him back alive, no matter the cost, as we need him to reveal the details of this new dangerous weapon.

Good luck, Ghosts!
