Tom Tries a Dos Game Part 5 : Hillsfar
1I check out another Dos game. This time I attempted Advanced Dungeons & and Dragons : Hillsfar. This game has no music so any music you hear I found on Youtube. I probably would have enjoyed this game more if I could figure out how to fight I am not sure if you can actually fight the guards or not but I am pretty sure you can fight the monsters in the arena but it wasn't the usual button for attacking like space bar or enter so I just proceeded to get killed when the guards arrested me and brought me there. I also never could figure out how the lockpick mechanic worked so I ended up breaking all of my lockpicks more than once. I did find out from just trial and error that you can use an item called a knock ring to open a locked door or chest however in some cases the chest will have an extra lock which will require an extra knock ring also I discovered that not every locked chest has stuff in it I wasted two knock rings on a locked chest that was completely empty yeah that was frustrating. Also before you even get to the town of Hillsfar which is where the game takes place you must survive an arcade sequence getting your horse to jump over obstacles now one time I could understand but say you want to go back to camp and then return to the town you have to do the arcade sequence again. Yeah I won't be playing this game again. There is one interesting thing about this game though you can import characters from Pool of Radiance or Curse of the Azure Bonds I didn't have any characters to import though so I have no idea how well it works.
