Managed to dig up my old capture card after...~8 years or so(?) and to my surprise it still worked, so I likewise got the itch to record something again. I recently completed the Panzer Dragoon trilogy and thoroughly enjoyed them (Saga in particular), so while my sega saturn was up and running, I got to thinking about what to record. I'd always wanted to do a run through of the saturn version of tomb raider as a companion piece to my PS1 walkthrough (I'd also wanted to do complete walkthroughs of 2 through 5...we all see how that turned out...). It's a very odd version, as it's technically the original, but it's also slightly unfinished, runs like you would expect a fully 3D game to run on 2D-intended saturn hardware, has terrible sound quality, and overall is a very quirky and dirty version of a classic. However, I can't help but have a soft spot for it, considering it probably shouldn't be running on the hardware to begin with, so it gives it a certain charm. The rendering method of the saturn as well has a certain vibe to it that sets it apart from every other system at the time.


This is a completely uncut stitching of multiple play sessions over the past few days of me playing this on an actual sega saturn. I hadn't played the game since making my walkthrough, so it's messy, I died a lot, I forgot what to do, etc...but here it is anyway; it's moreso just for my personal enjoyment, and to serve as a test-bed for uploading large videos to youtube.


If I get the itch again, I'll likely do properly edited complete walkthroughs of the other games, but I'll play that by ear. I'm in a much different spot in my life than I was back when I made videos regularly.
