The isekai tax is real, and yes, I'm coining that term as of today! Every season there are like 8-10 isekai anime that get released, and some of them might be "good", but a lot of these anime are just 12-episode throwaways for the manga sales... It's kinda sad sometimes looking at the title and synopsis of a new anime and having like 99% accuracy of what it'll be about and how it will play out! I love anime heck, at one point, I loved isekai anime and other fantasy/power fantasy anime but this is getting out of hand now. I miss passion projects of the early 2010s and more recently, anime that is made with the intention of completing their stories so I guess I don't love seeing these 12-episode isekai anime that's sole purpose feels like to drive manga sales to never be animated again (yes I know this happens with shows outside of the isekai genre but for isekai specifically it does feel like this is the formula like 90% of the time)
