Tool Assisted GTFO Speedrun - R2D2 in 29:41 [Powerless] [TAS]
81This speedrun uses an third party program (AutoHotKey) to exploit an oversight in Expedition R2D2. This is by no means a legitimate speedrun, it was performed to see how fast the level could be completed using a brute force attack to discover the passwords, instead of doing the intended method of searching for it via Terminals in various other zones.
To give a brief overview, you are forced to defend 10 waves of enemies, with waves lasting 2 minutes. After each wave a password is required to be entered into the terminal to start the next wave. 5 of these passwords are found in various terminals around the level that take a long time to reach. However there is no penalty for entering/trying incorrect passwords. So assuming you could 'acquire' all the passwords in the game, you could try each and everyone of them. Which is exactly what this run does.
This method still has its fair share of challenges, mainly that of resource management, as you only have the Reactor Zone's (Z192) resources.
