Der Riese is not just a crown jewel in World at War, it’s a crown jewel in Call of Duty history. This map is so good that I could find just one thing this map did wrong. So instead of the usual five, here’s the one thing Der Riese did wrong.
#1: Der Riese has an unfortunate game-breaking glitch involving the Wunderwaffe and Juggernog. If you accidentally hit yourself with the Wunderwaffe while you have jug, you will be permanently one-shot for the rest of the game. In co-op, the only workaround is to purposefully down yourself, get revived by a teammate, and then you can go rebuy jug and be good as new. However, in solo this isn’t possible because you obviously don’t have a teammate who can revive you, so you’re just stuck at 1hp for the rest of the game. It’s an unfortunate glitch that makes the most powerful weapon in the game that I’m sure you were looking forward to Pack-a-Punching for the first time almost completely unusable.
