Fighting games have fell and surged in popularity over the years but, for the most part, the big and well-established names in the space have sucked up all of the oxygen. That said, there are a number of indie fighters made by a variety of developers worth checking out. Some are certainly more reminiscent of the well-known genre staples but others have dared to try to change things up in key ways as well. Here's the best I've encountered for the Switch.
