Joplin, MO EF5 May 22, 2011 - Reached maximum width of over one mile and winds peaking more than 200 mph, 161 fatalities; this was the single deadliest tornado recorded in the United States since official record keeping in 1950.
EL Reno, OK EF3 May 31, 2013 - 4 expert storm chaser fatalities, Recording-breaking width of 2.6 miles long, measurements from weather radars revealed winds up to 302 mph within the vortex, among the highest observed wind speeds on earth. Due to the ferocity and sheer size, and irregular movement it's referred to as one of the most dangerous tornadoes in storm observing history.
Greensburg, KS EF5 May 4, 2007 - 10 fatalities, 95% of the city was completely levelled, wind speeds of 205 mph, maximum width of 1.7 miles, happened at night not much footage of the incident.
Moore, OK EF5 May 3, 1999 - 36 fatalities (5 indirect), registered the highest wind speeds ever measured globally and considered the strongest tornado ever recorded. Prompted the first-ever use of the tornado emergency warning statement by the National Weather Service. 301 miles per hour winds. Maximum width of 1 mile.
Smithville, MS EF5 April 27, 2011 - 23 fatalities, Part of the 2011 Super Outbreak, reached an estimated maximum width of 3/4th of a mile with wind speeds up to 205 mph.
Jarrell, TX EF5 May 27, 1997 - 27 fatalities, lack of substantial wind shear over the region led to unknown tornado development to the public. Lasted 13 minutes and scoured the earth moving at a snail pace. Anything in its way was eviscerated. Maximum width of 3/4 mile.
Xenia, OH EF5 April 3, 1974 - 32 fatalities, not much footage exists, part of a super outbreak, pretty small in width of 500 yards.
El Reno-Piedmont, OK EF5 May 24, 2011 - 9 fatalities, wind speeds up to 295 mph, part of the super outbreak, appears as a large wedge shrouded by rain.
Hesston & Goessel, KS EF5 March 13, 1990 - Hesston width of 1320 yards, 60 injuries and 1 fatality. The Hesston tornado combined with the Goessel Tornado and merged together into another EF5 with another fatality.
Fairdale, IL EF4 April 9, 2015 - 2 fatalities, amazing footage from Clem Schultz who tragically had their wife pass away during this incident, not much you can do wish him well.
