We're going to cover 11 LIGHTSABER COMPANIES that YOU TALKED ABOUT THE MOST in the comments section of last year's version of this video.

If you’re thinking about buying a new or custom lightsaber and you’re not sure who to buy from, make sure to WATCH THIS VIDEO FIRST, because there are some VERY IMPORTANT THINGS things you need to know, and some very bad companies you need to STAY AWAY from!

*I'm using bit.ly instead of the websites' actual URLs in order to track engagement. I am not affiliated with and receive no rewards or incentives from any of these companies.

------------------- DATA ANALYTICS PROCESS -------------------
Here's what I did to arrive at the conclusions made in this video...

1. Used YouTube's API to export all comments from last year's video into Excel

2. Used Excel to clean up the data as much as possible. Here's what that involved:
- a. Separated the comments that mentioned lightsaber companies from those that didn't. This brought the total comments from 2650 to about 1800.
- b. Separated the useful comments from the non-useful comments (e.g., "What about Sabertrio?" is NON-USEFUL, and "Sabertrio is great" is USEFUL). This brought the comments down to about 1400.
- c. Then I used formulas and keywords and some manual corrections to identify which companies were mentioned in each comment. Some only mentioned 1 company. Others mentioned several.
- d. Then I took a tally of how often each company was mentioned and used those sums to determine which companies accounted for 80% of all the comments that were left. This brought the total comments down to about 1100 and revealed the TOP 11 COMPANIES THAT WERE MENTIONED THE MOST OFTEN.

3. Imported that Excel data into an app called "Zoho Creator", which is basically a software-building platform with a lot of built-in tools for creating forms, reports, and dashboards for displaying analytics (I use this for work every day and have become very comfortable with it).

4. Built an app to manage all the data I've compiled. The app allows me to view each comment, read it, rate it, and save it. I also built a dashboard for displaying high-level sentiment analysis cards to see how all the companies stack up against each other, and how each company performs on specific attributes relating to the Product, Service, Shopping Experience, and Shipping.

5. I read through each of the 1100 comments and for each one, I filled out a sort of "order satisfaction" survey for whatever companies were mentioned in the comment, using the contents of the comment as a guide. The great thing about building an app was that I could go through all these comments from my phone. So whenever I had free time, I would open the app and get to work. Still... this took weeks.

6. As I was doing this, I noticed that everyone's reasons for why they liked/disliked a company fall under about a dozen different categories such as Hilt Quality, Customer Service, and Shipping Time. So I added these categories to the survey form and (to the best of my ability) filled out a 16-question survey for about 800 comments. The only comments that I DIDN'T get to were from Ultrasabers and Saberforge. Ultrasabers alone had 358 total comments, and I read 200 of them (randomized). After that, I figured that was plenty of data to work with for a single company, so I moved on to the rest. I did the same thing for Saberforge.

7. The dashboard I created then automatically took all the ratings from those 800 comments and created all of the bar graphs shown in this video.

8. Then I used my own judgement in deciding which results were worth reporting/mentioning to you. In a nutshell, if a specific attribute had less than 10 total votes, I wouldn't think it to be reliable enough to form conclusions with. UNLESS....
- All of those votes were GOOD, or all of them were BAD. IMO, those are clear trends and should be reported.
- The company itself had so few votes in general, that any amount of votes would provide at least SOME insight about the company. The only exception to this was Disney's legacy sabers, which had so few votes that literally nothing was reliable enough to share.

9. Then I spent 20 hours making a video about it :D
