Mid weight hobby games are all about balance. They don't require TOO much thought, time, or effort, but they do require enough to remain intriguing for replay after replay. While party games may still dominate most regular FLGS game nights, mid weight games tend to be a go-to for most hobbyists to spend part of an evening.

Mid weight games can be tough to define - number of mechanics, amount of time, decisions per round, intensity, potential for analysis paralysis, all are possible metrics. For me, they tend to be 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, have one to three classic hobby mechanics, and consistantly reward a solid stratigic plan over blind guesses. What about YOU?
