The man who would mastermind the British response if there were any repeat of the 1982 invasion is Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach.

Today he spoke at the opening of a new headquarters which brings together joint capabilities across defence. He dismissed media reports questioning Britain's ability to defend the Falklands, saying he had all the capability he needed.

Joint Forces Command is now responsible for tri service functions like intelligence, cyber and logistics as well as the war-fighting headquarters of PJHQ.
