Top Gear 3000 (SNES) - Part 1: Merak System
204After the unexpected success of my Top Gear and Top Gear 2 playthroughs, I decided to start 2018 by finishing up the trilogy. So welcome to the last game in the SNES Top Gear trilogy, Top Gear 3000!
While the first two Top Gear games were about racing around the world, 3000 takes it up a notch and has you racing in other star systems across the galaxy! A few things have been changed gameplay-wise as well. The refueling mechanic is back from the first game, but instead of waiting in the pits, you just run over a red strip on the track to refuel while you move! Another mechanic introduced in this game is your vehicle can actually get damaged, and you can repair it by running over a blue strip on the track (kind of like F-Zero, actually). Another returning mechanic is buying car upgrades like in Top Gear 2.
