In 1873, Mason Machine Works built the Torch Lake for the Calumet and Hecla Mining Company on Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula. The locomotive was designed for tight turns on the railroad. Torch Lake was put into the Henry Ford's collection of locomotives and rollingstock in 1969.
