Torchlight: Infinite (火炬之光:无限) - Developer Gameplay Demo | ChinaJoy 2020
Everything you wish to know on the current status of Torchlight: Infinite (火炬之光:无限) is detailed below and depicted in this developer update video. Note that the game is still in-progress, thus the gameplay does not represent its final output.
Torchlight: Infinite has gathered thousands of players who participated and played the game's in-progress state held at ChinaJoy 2020 at TapTap's booth. The developers were able to collect feedback from the testers. After considering the feedback carefully, they decided to release a developer update video as shown with the following content being highlighted:
1. Art style of the game
2. Core combat gameplay
3. Basic level design
4. BOSS battles
In the video two points were emphasized:
1. Regarding the preset molding BD
The demo version is limited by the development progress. In order for players to have a smooth experience, the developers pre-planned the demo version. As a result, there were multiple sets of molded BDs that were offered in the demo version. The complete version of this feature will be available in the official version.
2. Regarding the possibility of "Unlimited BD"
3 heroes were made playable in the demo. Each hero has 3 specialization routes; 12 talents, each with 60 talent points and 5 unique ones; equipped with more than 20 active skills and more than 60 passive skills.
For the trial version to proceed smoothly, the developers only selected 5 BDs for each hero. The developers have claimed that there are countless ways of BDs, and that they have constructed many interesting BDs that have not been shown to the public yet.

FREE-TO-PLAY
The game will be free. Microtransactions will be the revenue source for the developers. Paid contents will include new heroes, skins, cosmetic items, skill special effects, and many more.
MULTIPLAYER
There will be an online multiplayer mode. The developers are still formulating the basic requirements for the multiplayer mode such as drop rates and difficulty control, but they expressed that they do not intend to do too much designs for online multiplayer.
BOSSES
There will be two types of bosses; the epic and the normal. The difficulty of the epic bosses will be similar to the difficulty of the boss shown in the current CJ demo version, or even more difficult, which players will need to work hard to defeat them. The normal bosses will be simpler than the epic ones, but it will also be challenging enough.
RELATION OF THE GAME TO TORCHLIGHT 1, 2, & 3
The developers claimed to have incorporated several concepts and lore of Torchlight 1,2, and 3; but also hopes to come up with some innovation to build a fuller and more interesting game world that has its own story and culture, intending to restructured the entire lore of Torchlight.
Torchlight: Infinite is targeted to old players of Torchlight, as well as new players who has not played the game yet. The developers have promised to provide continuous updates and share the development progress of the game from time to time. Stay tuned!

Acknowledging the global success of Torchlight 1 and 2, Xindong is determined to create a new Torchlight title from the ground up with an emphasis on Magic Find, a popular feature found on games like Diablo, Titan Quest, and Path of Exile. The developer legally acquired the rights to the IP from Perfect World Group (完美世界) (Runic Games' parent company), which also included the publishing rights in Asia (only).
