Any game, especially one that's been going for over 4 years, will have expectations from devs and publishers.
We had a really engaged core playerbase, and we're super grateful to you guys. Player numbers would heavily fluctuate based on day, time and tier. But F2P games need constant new players, and that can cost a lot of money. The F2P market has changed a lot over the last 4 years.
