I find a lot of people actually get this element of the game really wrong and being able to exploit that is where I get a load of my victories. If my opponent has a ton of cavalry, I need to figure out how to not only survive that, but to also eliminate it. If they have a load of archers I need to figure out how to get to them. If they have a lot of infantry, I need to figure out how to outmanuever them.
