Wow, can I just say what a ride this was? DDC is sometimes ridiculed for giving you a ton of resources and for having two shots (ReimuA and SakuyaA) that are really strong for survival. But when you take those two things away and just play the game straight up, you start to realize just how hard this game's patterns actually are. ReimuB was always my main even before I learned how good ReimuA and SakuyaA were, just because I'm used to the "needles-Reimu" archetype, so that wasn't much of an issue to me, though I did have to adjust for her slightly lower power compared to other games.
My story with DDC is a bit weird. Due to real-life circumstances I wasn't able to play this game at first, aside from one week shortly after it came out, during which I got standard Lunatic and Extra clears. It wasn't until January 2015, when I got a new computer that could actually handle the game, that I could play DDC again, and while I dabbled with various stages on and off since then, the only notable new thing I got for a while was a perfect Stage 3. Just goes to show not just how hard, but how consistently hard, DDC's late-game can be, especially with a mediocre shot. After getting my SA Lunatic 1lc recently, I started preparing for Stage 5 by practicing Seija a ton, especially her control-switching attacks, which I knew would take a long time to get used to. Then after FINALLY perfecting Stage 5 after an entire month of work, I felt it was time I finished the rest, and steadily got every other stage over the following month. I always knew Stage 4B would be the last one I'd get too, just because of Yatsuhashi's final attack, but damn was it all satisfying once I pulled it off - I've been waiting nearly four years to be able to make this video.
You may have noticed that Youtube annotations have gone bye-bye. While I'll be keeping the annotations I have for previous videos, I'll be using text in any new videos from now on to provide my usual commentary, character descriptions, Spell Card tips, and the like. I hope it's all just as helpful as before, and I'd certainly like some extra feedback on it if you got any.
