Touhou 5 - Mystic Square - Lunatic Mima 93 Million Clear
4I did it on hard so I did it in lunatic (cheesing the lasers, that is). I didn't want to risk my run trying to dodge Shinki's lasers. Besides, the time I used to time it out was what I used to grab a drink of water and calm my nerves for her last 3 attacks.
Sort of worked on this for about 1.5 weeks (probably since my Mima normal run that I still have unlisted but is in the playlist). Considering my mental calendar is bad, I'll say 1.5 weeks anyway. In reality, it might have been a week but it feels like 1.5 to me.
About the run, I pretty much got a good enough strategy for each stage when I got this run. Obviously there are things that I need to work on. Stage 4 is pretty difficult with Mima's narrow shot and stage 5 is kind of sensory overload for me. I can barely read a good enough path to take with all the things after that midboss. Yumeko I decided to just bomb anytime things go wrong. Trying to misdirect her bullets is pretty difficult when it feels like the path her swords (I think) take is random.
Also, stage 1 is restart hell for me. The same could be said about stage 2, but I tend to get hit by a bullet I didn't see coming more in stage 1. Part of that is because I'm a bit too aggressive with my item collection. The other part is because I'm an idiot. Stage 2 restarts aren't as bad, but its mostly due to being sniped from the ice or if I end up getting trapped
I sort of watched Zil's stage 4 attempt to get an idea on how I can kind of approach the more difficult sections (somewhat successful, I think). The thing regarding Shinki was something I remember watching from Chirpy's video on that. I would like to dodge that attack, but I played Zone H in Darius Gaiden enough to know that those type of lasers are hard to dodge.
Side note: I really should use savestates more often. I know T98-Next allows that, but I decided to go with the feed credit approach (though I don't think I actually credit fed just to practice the later stages). I think I have the mentality that unless I'm in a serious run, I won't have the proper rhythm for a particular section if I were to practice it.
