W00t!! I'm back(ish)! Formerly known as KnucklesX4, I wanted a different name an thus, my new YT account YuuhiX4 was born. After spending months not uploading vids after the Rakion Solo Blog (Check my previous account for that: KnucklesX4), I get caught up in the Touhou game series and started playing both the official and some very good fangames. I figured I'd also upload my progress in the official games for now, mainly so the gaming community I'm in can see it. The official games are fun to play, needless to say they're damn tough as well. Even though most official games only take 20-30 mins to complete, it takes quite a lot of practice to actually go through all of it

Goal: 1cc* the Touhou Games on at least Normal Mode
Bonus: Complete the Extra Stage of the games (Not saying that I always will, lol)

Why normal? Since Easy Mode is, well, pretty easy and for now I'm not gonna touch Hard/Lunatic Mode. I only played Lunatic once in a livestream event a few weeks ago and with the sloppy performance I made there, I used up my last Continue when fighting Remilia, the last boss in Touhou 6

So without further ado, lets see how far I can go with this!


NOTE: I'm far from being a pro at this type of games, so don't expect lots of flawless and elegant gameplay for now :P. And I'm not looking for the hardcore STG players to tell me off when uploading my Touhou runs, so any mockery about me using the hitbox patch or whatever will be removed on the spot. This is not to say that I won't appreciate any good hints for the game tho, just keep in mind that I'm more of a casual player and I got a long way to go before I'm actually getting good at these games


For this run, we have Touhou 6 - Embodiment of Scarlet Devil

Character: Marisa
Shot Type: B (Illusion Laser, Master Spark)
Difficulty: Normal
Starting Lives: 5
Starting Bombs: 3 (Default)

Marisa B's shot is kind of a gamble at some aspects, since her laser isn't a 24/7 shot. The rest of her bullets are also a bit spread and focus mode won't change the way they fire, so you're gonna rely on those lasers for maximum damage. Her bomb however, is the best one of the game since this covers almost the entire screen when you're at the bottom and lasts for quite a while

This is a run that I actually played a while ago, and it's the first time I ever 1cced it, so why not start things off with this one? The first 3 stages are pretty easy to do, while the difficulty will spike at Stage 3 boss's last 2 spellcards

- Yes, I am using the retexture patch of the game. It doesn't alter the gameplay in any way tho. Just makes things more pretty :)

- Yes, I did start with 5 lives, but I could've done this run with the default lives as you will see. The only thing that got affected in this run was the score because of the player penalty

- Yes, I did use the hitbox patch, but it's not like it made my gameplay any easier. I would've been able to go without one, but I kept it anyway so afterwards I can at least see what killed me instead of saying "How the f*BEEP* did that kill me?????" Funny fact: At the last few seconds of the run, I was more like "How the f*BEEP* did that NOT kill me"


(I'm also still messing around with the video settings to see what would be the best quality for me to upload vids with. Just hope this one comes out nicely. Ignore the red number on the top right of the screen. That's Fraps when it's in the mood to keep the FPS on the screen (I should get rid of it next time). I didn't re-record it, since it doesn't get in the way of the actual gameplay)
