Turn on CC for commentary.

So, new Gore game just dropped, and in true Gore game fashion, it's basically so impossible to die in that even I was able to get LNN. Yes, I got hit several times during the run, but I don't count it as a miss unless you actually lose a life, which I didn't.

Quick rundown of the mechanics: once again, in true Gore fashion, it's several official Touhou games' mechanics mashed into one giant mess. You've got the sync gauge from SA, which auto-PoCs items once it's full, DDC's "get resources by auto-collecting lots of items at once" mechanic, which also clears bullets around you... and the main attraction, a reskinned season gauge from HSiFS that you fill up by collecting coins and can then spend by pressing C to use an assist, which, depending on the shot type, can be a flash bomb, a shield, a hyper, or other things.

The game has four playable characters with three shot types each. Reimu has the smallest hitbox, Marisa has an easier time grabbing items, Sanae has items bounce off the bottom of the screen once, and Komachi, while having a much larger hitbox than everyone else, also has the highest HP. The shot types themselves range from competent to completely broken. For example, Komachi C has an assist that's literally every WBaWC hyper at the same time *and* on steroids, basically making playing her a "press C to win" thing.

Sanae A isn't too far behind, either. Her assist has her summon Kanako, who stays in place and fires a stream of onbashira while also acting as a decoy for aimed bullets, but her focused shot is ridiculously overpowered and can melt attacks before they even really start. I'd almost go as far as to say she's even more broken than Komachi C, since she has all the damage output with none of the drawbacks (i.e. her hitbox is regular-sized).

That said, in true Gore fashion, the game is a creatively bankrupt mess. There's art tracing, bullet pattern copying, the stages are almost entirely streaming, and the music contributed by NED in particular is just... bad. The final boss and extra boss themes in particular are absolutely ear-grating. An argument could be made that Gore is just making the kind of game he wants to make, but it leaves a bit of a sour taste in my mouth when I think of how savagely he tears into other people's games, yet clearly can't do it much better. For what it's worth, though, he apparently intends for this to be his final game.
