Touhou: Concealed the Conclusion - Stage 1a (No Commentary)

The eyes play tricks, and everything
seems to press towards me as if it were alive.
It's a regular day in Gensokyo, until Marisa goes over to find that Reimu is missing, and the shrine is even locked up. Playing with four different attack styles, the yin-yang ball, and 4 different starting scenarios, the player travels through 6 stages and 2 extra stages to solve the mystery of this tragic story.
The game is an overall reference as to what could happen if something happened to the current miko in official terms, seeing that the miko of Hakurei is crucial to Gensokyo's survival.
Touhou: Concealed the Conclusion is another Touhou doujin game along the same lines as MegaMari however this one is a SHMUP like your traditional Touhou fare written for Danmakufu. Interesting to note this is one of the first and also said to be one of the best SHMUP Touhou doujin games out there to the point where ZUN actually referenced this game in both 12.3 Hisoutensoku and 13.5 Hopeless Masquerade. You may recognize one of the alternate colors for Reimu is complete pale white in those games? There ya go.
The game itself borrows elements most strongly from Touhou 6 & 8. Despite what you may see in the video you can still see your hit box if you focus, it's just much smaller than normal. However bullet hit boxes are larger to compensate. This game also brings back the Last Words which haven't been seen in any Touhou game other than Touhou 8: Imperishable Night. You access them with this games primary mechanic the Hakurei items. You collect them by grazing bullets while unfocused until your gauge is filled then any graze gets you three per clip rather than one. Also capturing Spell Cards get you a good amount as well. Having enough by the end of the stage will allow you to fight that bosses Last Word. But their most important quality is the fact that the amount you have by the final boss will set exactly how long you have left to beat her.
There are four different modes to play as and each mode has a different set of bosses for stages 1-3. All story lines come back together for stages 4-6 however. Marisa-A has us going to the Scarlet Devil mansion
Stage 1 is fairly simple with your only goal being to get as many [P] as you can. With you speed you won't be able to get everything but on the plus side with your style of shot you won't have to worry about aiming as enemies.
Flandre is very simple to beat but most importantly she is very useful in getting your Hakurei gauge up. You need 180 points by the end of the stage to fight Meiling's Last Word and that is quite difficult unless you're actively aiming for it.
Meiling is more showy than threatening bringing out attacks similar to what she did in Touhou 6 with a little bit of 9.5 mixed in for good measure. But ultimately you're just dealing with a bunch of small rainbow colored bullets fired everywhere with plenty large enough gaps between them all.
