This stage is very difficult, but also very fair in what it expects of the player and can be learned. It's many screen clearing death fairies are the biggest threat and being unprepared for them can cost you your precious resources.
The midboss can be very difficult, if one doesn't take a bit of time to visit spell practice, as her first first and third spells are very likely to wall you if you don't learn to misdirect them correctly.
Thereafter lies a highly ferocious enemy, but thankfully she is also super fun with a great song to accompany her. The fifth sword gets very hard if given the time, as it grows bigger with each slash, so the plan is to activate my Liberation on the quite difficult nonspell before it. This works out perfectly, as it allows me to fill up the gauge again in time for the complete nonsense that is her final nonspell and the very random spell card that follows it. That spell has many different attacks it can use in whichever order and combination it wants, which can make it easy or hard as luck decides, so ending it as quickly as possible is appreciated.
What follows after that is a scary survival spell, which becomes impossible if you hesitate even once and getting back into it after a bomb can also be very difficult.
I love this boss battle, not gonna lie. Its a great note to end this game on!

Riverbed Soul Saver is the third Touhou fan game in the series created by developer ido.
Systematically similar again to Touhou Ten Desires, this game introduces Liberation, a Hyper Mode activated by holding the bomb key for a longer time after filling up the Liberation Gauge on the right side of the screen. The Gauge is filled by collecting blue crystals and point items, bigger point items providing more Gauge but blue crystals dropped by bosses providing the most. Bosses drop more crystals if you are close to them.
During Liberation, your shot type generally gets a lot stronger, with some shot type specific benefits on top of that. Collected Life and Bomb Pieces are doubled during Liberation as well.
Most importantly however, you are not invincible during Liberation and getting hit will make you lose all your bombs. You can however still bomb regularly during Liberation to save yourself. It is important to learn when to use your Liberation effectively to get the most benefit out of them, be that to make hard sections easier or to maximize lives and bombs gained.
