[ OVERALL ]
东方梦无垠 ~ The Unreachable Oneiroborder is a, hmm... well, yet another fangame it seems :V And also another one made on LuaSTG engine. Trial being released a year ago (in 2019 August).

While the menu seems to be quite buggy, the game has some real potential, given the devs do their stuff right we might get some really great fangame at out disposal.
Personally I could see new TUO UI in progress. Looks really, really better (and let's hope less buggy :V)

[ SYSTEM ]
Overall the system is quite plain, and is oriented towards resources more than score. It introduces the so-called "Dream Gauge" - as visible on the top left.
Killing enemies, shotgunning and grazing lowers the dream gauge. Bombing, dying or just waiting will raise it back up.
When it's high - resource gain is increased.
When it's low - resource gain is decreased, but your power can go up to 5.00 (even 6.00 at absolute max, yet maintaining it is practically impossible).
Basically, when you do worse, it will help you get back going.

Gaining lives is also different. While Dream Gauge allows you to fill life bar slower or quicker, actually getting them is not that straightforward. Once you complete the chapter, you are eligible for a life if you have enough of filled bar to get one. - In other words, you don't get them instantly.
It gets even trickier on boss. In order to get accumulated lives, you need to beat the whole boss. And after that, you will get your extends.

...Yeah, I guess that's all about it for now.

[ MY OPINIONS? ]
The game is dynamic and challenging at points. Not a bid deal on first two stages, it's totally okay. The true diffficulty comes with Hallusehyen - third stage boss - who has some really nasty spells. Even though all of them are totally possible and consistent - they basically are scary.
Good game it seems to be. Looking forward to it - as with any fangame coming~
