Toxicity in the Gaming Community at an All-Time High
Nine months since the launch of the so-called "next-gen" consoles have passed.
Gaming has become fused with politics, as multiple titles were developed around the existing concept of Identity Socialism. Kotaku's review of the PS5 further strengthens the fact that escapism is dead. Stock for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S remains at extreme lows, while demand is unprecedented.
GPU prices have skyrocketed due to scalpers, crypto, and as a side effect of holding a certain totalitarian regime in a manufacturing hub in the Far East accountable for what they did last year. Those so-called "stock drop" streams and Discord servers were supposed to "help" people be able to obtain high-demand items, but scalpers buy up the entire drop within minutes. PS4 controllers have also went out of stock, and the 99% of people who still have PS4s are prohibited from connecting their DualNonSense controllers to the PlayStation 4, even though ways to connect it to a Nintendo Switch exist.
Regardless of how many gamers were able to get their hands on the PS5, Sony made several major blunders: shutting down Japanese studios that were "unprofitable", their Marxist attempt to shut down the PS3/Vita stores, and locking the Yuffie DLC in Final Fantasy VII Intergrade to the 1% that have PS5 consoles.
Nintendo fans have been overly toxic over controversial actions by Nintendo Co., Ltd., and the Smash community remains one of the most toxic gaming communities in existence. Retro games, especially Pokemon, have reached record-high prices. Just recently, a random user on Instagram called me "broke" for not being "able" to buy a PS5 (when I don't want one in the first place), which only solidifies why the video game industry is going to head to a massive recession soon.
