11Toyota got into the multimedia infotainment game in 2012 with the introduction of the Entune system, and the latest version of Toyota Entune is the best yet. Here's what you should know about the system:
For 2015, Entune essentially offers the display of a smartphone, providing convenient access to such media as music, news, weather, traffic updates and more. We especially recommend upgrading to the larger 8-inch center screen (compared to the 6.1-in version), because it's easier to use and faster to respond than the smaller standard screen.
Entune is available in four different versions, and pricing depends on the vehicle and the trim level you've chosen. The most basic Entune version is called Entune Audio, which comes standard with typical stereo functions such as an AM/FM radio, a CD player, Bluetooth and voice recognition. Next up is Entune Audio Plus, which adds satellite radio, HD radio and HD weather and traffic functionality. Big-time smartphone app users might be interested in the Entune Premium Audio package, which offers full smartphone integration. Some models even offer a high-end JBL sound system in conjunction with Entune.
If you're interested in Toyota Entune, you'll be able to use its functions free of charge for the first 3 years of service. After that, you'll pay a monthly subscription fee, the exact amount of which depends on the package you've chosen. Although we don't find Entune to be the most advanced infotainment system on the market, we're impressed with its smartphone functionality and its ease of use.
