TP 100% new route demo (see description for timestamps and summary)
308The new route saves 34s over the old route and adds some cool tech that we didn't have a use for before. This particular run was very sloppy by my standards, but it was just meant to be a route test. Timestamps of some highlights:
0:00:00 beginning (first two hours are the same as the old route)

This new route delays the King Bulblin 1 fight until after Midna's Desperate Hour. Finishing Midna's Desperate Hour sets time of day to 06:00, but there are a lot of poes to collect on the way to the desert and Arbiter's Grounds that are only available at night, which begins at 19:00. Defeating King Bulblin 1 sets time of day to 17:00, so doing so right after beating Midna's Desperate Hour eats up that daytime nicely, avoiding inefficient IGT spenders like splitting collection in Snowpeak or the Gorge into two trips.
Unfortunately, Midna's Desperate Hour comes after beating Lakebed, and some rocks at the Bridge of Eldin must be blown up before beating Lakebed in order to avoid getting locked out of the Bridge of Eldin portal, and Barnes' bomb bag is locked behind King Bulblin, so this means the fastest option is to steal a bomb bag before beating Lakebed in order to blow up those rocks, which does cost some time. By itself, this is slower than how the old route spent in-game time.
However, later in the run, it's possible to skip all of the puzzles in the Lanayru ice puzzle cave and then savewarp out of the cave instead of leaving normally. This savewarp, oddly, puts the player in Upper Zora's River, which was useless in old routes, making the puzzle skips not a good option. In this route, though, because King Bulblin eats up almost all of the daytime after Midna's Desperate Hour, we still have a minigame left to do in Upper Zora's River, which makes this savewarp worthwhile, saving enough time to offset the investment of time stealing a bomb bag much earlier.
The only route mistakes in this run had to do with Agitha. I accidentally gave her a 50 rupee bug instead of a 100 rupee one after Temple of Time and had to back that up in City in the Sky. After this run, I realized that I could have given Agitha all 8 bugs that I had right after Midna's Desperate Hour, allowing me to skip the 100 rupee chest in Lake Hylia cave, which contributes 11s to the overall 34s timesave.
