At first glance, Golvellius could be mistaken for just another Zelda clone but developer Compile clearly wanted to do something different while keeping the Zelda gameplay at its core. They added side-scrolling platforming sections and other sections that gave the game enough variety to stand out. It was quite a lengthy game and the soundtrack was the best on the Master System, something that can't be fully enjoyed by just the first section of the game in this video because the track changed when you upgraded the swords. But the music got better and better with each upgrade. I prefer Golvelluis than the similar but not quite as good Golden Axe Warrior of all the Master System's action RPG's.
