12I guess this probably happens because I got the Master Sword early and the game thinks Auru should be there. But I'm also guessing that during twilight and before completing Lakebed the state of Lake Hylia isn't the right one for him to actually be there. (Warping the Sky Cannon also seems to change the state of Lake Hylia, one in which Auru isn't present. So you can give yourself a dead end if you warp the Cannon too soon.)
