This is a quick tutorial on Auru BA (aka Auru duping). This was discovered by Jacquaid:

You can get Auru to give you just about any item in the game, which sadly isn't much useful in most speedruns to my knowledge, but it is really fun to experiment with! So here we go, a quick tutorial on how to get something extra from Auru.
Without having talked to Auru yet, get Link down to a half heart, so that fall damage will KO him. Go to Lake Hylia, climb the ladder to the little tower where Auru is, walk into the little cutscene trigger and let him go through his text. When he asks if you intend to investigate, say no and then move Link to a good position for a sidehop off the tower.
Talk to Auru again, say yes and get the memo. Before pressing A for the final text box of the memo, hold ZL and either left or right on the control stick. Mash A fast and if done correctly, Link will sidehop off the tower, hit the ground and die before Auru can finish his text. Select "Retry" when it shows up on the Game Over screen.
Link will respawn in front of the entrance to the spirit's spring, and if you're doing this and look at your gamepad you'll see that you do indeed have Auru's memo. You want to save the game at this point. (You could go back to Auru at this point and he would give you another memo, but that's not what we're trying to do.)
Now you need to go and collect something that Link holds up with both hands. This is most of the things in the game, but there are a few things that do not count, such as fish and anything Link holds up with one hand after scooping it into a bottle. You also cannot get Fused Shadows, mirror shards or scents this way.
You can use any file to collect your desired item, just so long as it is the last applicable thing that you acquired. For this video, I chose the Magic Armor. You also do not need to save after getting the item. Just collect it, return to the title screen, and then load the file that you saved after getting Auru's memo and dying.
Return to Auru but do not walk into the little cutscene trigger. After climbing the ladder, sidestep a bit and maneuver carefully, as I do in the video. Done correctly, you'll be able to ZL target Auru but not hit the cutscene trigger. Talk to him, go through his broken text, and when prompted, select "No" as your answer. (If you were to instead say yes at this point, Auru would give you another memo instead of the item you're trying to get.)
Then walk into his cutscene trigger and say "Yes". The short little scene will play out, but he'll just keep repeating the same couple of lines. Then at the end, if you followed all these steps correctly, he'll give you the last item you got before this. In my case it was the Magic Armor.
And yes, in the collection screen you can see that I do not have a wallet upgrade. Normally it would be impossible to buy the MA without a larger wallet, since it costs 598 rupees. Phooey on that! Hehehe... I hope you have as much fun with this as I have been.
Twilight Princess HD belongs to Nintendo. As if I needed to tell you that, right?
