Finally, if you enjoy my article and/or video, you can also read and listen to my thoughts on every single game Spiderweb Software has made with the video listed here: https://youtu.be/28Ml6JQQFc8
EDIT: So the intro got a copyright claim, and if there are any ads, then it's not my own doing. (I do find it ironic that anyone can copyright claim a video and monetize it from small channels who cannot monetize their own stuff.) Kind of disappointed since this song is from the game's main menu, but I had expected as much given that the game doesn't have its own soundtrack.
How will this affect the video? I'm simply going to mute the audio and talk over the intro, and if you still want the original introduction you can watch it here. Not going to let all that effort go to waste, so if you want to give the artist some revenue you can.
While I could do what most YouTubers would do in disputing such claims under Fair Use, I'm well-aware that Fair Use is limited to the extent of who owns what. Fair Use would cover the game footage and the critique itself; Fair Use would also likely cover usage of in-game soundtracks because those are integral to the experience in a review. However, Fair Use probably wouldn't cover the game's license agreements because I never agreed to them, which is why licensed soundtracks in more popular games will flag videos.
Don't take any of this news as me getting upset at the original creator as I'm sure he has little to no say in the matter. The more likely culprit is the publishing group automatically claiming any usage of the soundtrack itself. You don't need to be an expert like Leonard Finch in order to understand that situation.
