Defeating 8 enemies at once and getting 100 Chained Hits are two Achievements that may seem daunting, but they're easier to obtain than you may think. Note: 'Octuple Kill' is an EX Achievement and it's not required for the Platinum/100% Achievement.

There's not much setup required for '100-Hit Chain'/'Chain Smoker' and it should come naturally as you play, although you may need to go a bit out of your way for 'Octuple Kill'. Thankfully, the game offers two mandatory battles where you fight 8 enemies and they can be used to easily get this Achievement:
- The first mandatory battle, against 8 Crash Garms, happens during the second day of Chapter 1, which is the earliest point in the game these two Achievements can be obtained.
- There's also a mandatory fight against 8 Forest Garms in Chapter 3, during the first visit to Dirke Memorial Park. Note that this is a Command Battle instead of Field + Command like the above example, so it can be harder to achieve a higher hit count.

In case you missed the first one, the Seaside Cave in Chapter 2 is, as usual, a good spot to get 'Octuple Kill' since there are some rooms that have enough enemies for it, but it can be done at any point in the game.

These are the basic steps to follow:
1. During Field Battle focus on getting a Stun to launch a Preemptive Strike to chip all enemies down and also inflict some Delay.
The enemies' position is important so you should try to group together as many as you can. Might be a good idea to not move too much so they gather around you, although it depends on the type of enemy you're fighting.
2. In Command Battle, have your Arts user(s) cast an Art that can hit as many enemies as possible to increase the Chained Hits counter. The best options to do so are Aerial Dust (10 hits per enemy), Cataract Wave (11 hits) and Regulus Caliber (12 hits). Obsidian Ray, while only hitting 6 times, can also be useful to Delay enemies in case you want to achieve certain Tactical Bonuses.
3. The rest of your characters can do whatever, like weaken enemies that aren't going to be hit by an Art, get some Tactical Bonuses or just help with the Chained Hit counter.
4. Use an S-Break the moment you see a "Next" under the enemy to launch an S-Craft at full power! Around 50+ hits you should have a x2 damage multiplier, but of course the higher, the better.
Considering my current party, Feri's S-Craft can add more hits if necessary while still dealing decent damage or Van's trades less hits for more power.

And your rewards for obtaining both Achievements are the Celestial Art Plugin from 'Octuple Kill' and the Grail Locket accessory from '100-Hit Chain'.
It won't be until mid/lategame that you'll be able to use Celestial since it costs 600 (!) EP to cast, but Grail Locket it's an incredibly good accessory (HP+600; EP+60; 90% chance to prevent status ailments) especially if you get it this early.

🠚 Equipment & Orbment: 1:52
Nothing out of the ordinary given that it's so early in the game and Feri's setup hasn't been changed at all. What's important is that Agnès has the Storm Arts Driver equipped so she has access to Aerial Dust.

As for equipment, I've only upgraded Van and Agnès' weapons while keeping their starting gear from the Prologue. Feri doesn't have any accessories equipped either.
